Illustrated history of the Yarcombe Inn
We have received a very kind offer from Philip Kerr to illustrate the book but to date, no-one has come forward to offer to write it. With a request for views on the book, we have received 2 responses:
Brian and Mary Smith “Though it would be interesting to read a full history of The Yarcombe Inn, we feel that the money would be better spent providing some sort of speed awareness on the A30. Perhaps a permanent camera that records the speed of motorists? And asking for a 20mph through the village? The road will become even more dangerous with an increased volume of electric vehicles which cannot be heard”
Judith David “….. I personally think the money would be better spent being put towards the suggested speed traffic control as that is something every one of us will benefit from for some time, as opposed to the book which will be read once and then put on a bookshelf.”
